Today is proclaimed as British Columbia Volunteer Search and Rescue Memorial day by the Province of British Columbia. Representatives from Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, PEP Air, Coastal Nations Coast Guard Auxiliary, British Columbia Search and Rescue Association, and the Province of B.C. will lay a wreath at the memorial at noon. Everyone is welcome to join in honouring the 17 volunteers who lost their lives, and all that serve.
